AT I AM LGBTQ+, WE BELIEVE IN CREATING A WORLD WHERE EVERYONE CAN EMBRACE WHO THEY TRULY ARE WITHOUT FEAR.

Our founder, Rishi Khosla, is a 40-year-old Indian British gay man who understands the deep challenges of coming to terms with one’s identity. Growing up in a traditional Indian background, Rishi found there were no visible gay Indian men or women around him, leaving him feeling isolated and uncertain.

“As the first to come out in my large extended family and cultural circle, I faced tremendous difficulties—but also discovered unexpected acceptance from those I feared most would reject me.

Decades later, despite the progress made, many LGBTQ+ youth still endure discrimination, social stigma, and confusion about where they belong.

Witnessing this struggle—especially in a climate of growing hate, harmful social media narratives, and political attacks—motivated me to form I Am LGBTQ+. I want to show others that a fulfilling, normal life is possible when you own your truth and surround yourself with support.”

Now, more than ever, it is crucial to reignite the conversation and push for greater visibility, understanding, and acceptance. While progress has been made, the rise of anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric, discriminatory policies, and harmful narratives on social media threaten the safety and well-being of our community. Many still struggle in silence, fearing rejection, discrimination, or violence. That’s why I Am LGBTQ+ is more than just a platform—it’s a movement. We are here to remind the world that equality is not a given; it is something we must continue to fight for. By sharing our stories, standing up for one another, and amplifying diverse voices, we can create lasting change and ensure that no one is left behind. The time to act is now.
